As mentioned above altruism is the selfless helping of others, and to many people this might seem like a none sense since it is believed that humans are always in action due to any kind of selfish mind. But on the other hand, in my mind, I really don't believe that human mind or action or motivation can just simply be expressed in one philosophy or belief. For example for motives, just like every human beings nature, we do things to save and protect our offsprings, which can be a type of award to motivate people for certain actions but for this as it is different because it is inside every humans being to continue their generation over a period of time. But also in some in different ways humans are selfish in a sense that they are motivated by award in different ways. There is the basic social award, personal pride, and the want of power over others. But there is also the neurochemical award which is the feeling that makes us feel good in our genetic factor. As you can see, people although seems like they are doing things for good intention without being selfish, but there are always different motivations that lead us to these things, but just like every humans nature to save their offspring, it might be a possibility that some of these motivations are just another nature that humans beings were born with and we have to live with, there is no limit of selfishness or selflessness but more about how people express these actions.
